Did you know that Mary is the only woman mentioned in the Quran? When I learned that from Fr. Mitch Pacwa at EWTN’s 25th anniversary celebration in Denver October 2005, I began to ask our Lady to appear to the Iraqi people and the terrorists and tell them they need to love and not to hate. I prayed that she would appear and send them a message that only through love would they find true peace and happiness. I implored her to intercede to break their hearts of stone and give them hearts for love alone.

Over time, I lost that fervent prayer. But recently at a 2007 Mary May Crowning celebration, our priest told us of his journey to the priesthood through his devotion to Mary. He said that Mary always leads us to Jesus.That same evening, John’s gospel described Jesus saying “peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you.” This same priest delivered a homily about praying for peace in the world and especially in Iraq.

I suddenly had an overwhelming feeling that the Holy Spirit was telling me to pray for peace through Mary, but not the way I had been praying. The Mary Tea was attended by mothers and daughters and this was Mother’s Day weekend. I realized that we could ask Mary to intercede with the mothers of the Muslims! These Muslims will not listen to Christians, but they may listen to their mothers. And if the mothers know Mary from the Quran, then maybe they will listen to her. So now I’m asking that a million messages are sent to Mary via the prayers below:

"O Most Holy Advocate, Mother Mary, hear our prayers. The evil in the world is overwhelming us and we plead with you to intercede on behalf of the whole world. Dear Blessed Mother of God, show yourself to the mothers of the Radical Muslims who have hatred in their hearts. Plead with them to teach their children not to hate, but to love. Appear to them as you appeared in Lourdes, Fatima and Guadalupe. They know you are the mother of Jesus, show them your kindness and the way to your son, Jesus. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen."

"Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of death. Amen."

My name is Patty McKernan and I live in Colorado. I am asking my Catholic friends from all over to come to this site and pray to Mary so that we may see peace in Iraq and the rest of the Middle East. A friend of mine returned from a tour of duty in Iraq and he saw the face of evil over there. Satan is working very hard to confuse us and destroy us. Please help me pray for peace by asking Our Lady to appear to the mothers in the Middle East. Maybe a million requests will do the job.
